Who should get Registered under EPR Authorization?
EPR registration is mandatory as per the Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2022, E-Waste Management Rules, 2022 Battery Waste Management Rules, 2022, etc for those entities which are producing, importing or are brand owners of electronic goods, plastic packaging, lead acid or lithium-ion batteries respectively.Steps for Registration:
1. Submission of Application Form - The EPR application form is filed by providing detailed information of the entity such as name, address and other Relevant Documents required for Registration.
2. Submission of Application & Review - Once the application is submitted, the CPCB/SPCB/PCC reviews it to check for the requisite information.
3. Issuance of Certificate - If the concerned authority finds the application’s information and submitted documents satisfactory, then it issues the EPR Authorisation Certificate for Plastic waste or E-Waste or Battery-Waste Management.
